As Father's Day draws closer, families start thinking about what to give Dad on Father's Day. Our kids usually give things that they can do with their papa. Sometimes they give toys and games that they can play with together. But most of the time, they give children's books about dads that they can read together and celebrate that special relationship on Father's Day. I usually have the children write to their father on the inside of the book. Then I date the entry; this gives us a record of the child's writing on this memorable day. The following ResearchBit clarifies how reading together can help the child and the relationship in many ways.
ResearchBit: Parents who read to their children usually have children who read. Reading to children increases vocabulary, broadens experiences, enhances language development, and excites children about the world of books. In addition, the together-time that parents and children enjoy while they're reading together enriches the parent-child relationship for a lifetime.
Children's books that might be helpful on Father's Day have been grouped in two categories. Many of these books can be found at the library or at bookstores. If you wish to purchase the book from Amazon.com, an online bookstore with excellent service, you may click on the book title.
